Tobruk Campaign - Mission Flow Documentation

Overview

This document explains the mission logic for the Tobruk Campaign server, focusing on recon, bombing, and bumrush mechanics.

1. Mission Start

Players have two recon targets available immediately:
- Land Target (Factory, Supply Depot, etc.)
- Ship Target (Convoy, Carrier, etc.)
Pilots choose which recon mission to complete first.

2. Recon Phase

To complete recon, a pilot must fly over the target at the correct altitude and time-on-target.
Once recon is successful, bombers can attack that target.
The second recon mission remains available until completed.

3. Bombing Phase

Once recon is completed:
- Land Target: Must be bombed to 80% destruction.
- Ship Target: Must be bombed to 100% destruction.
After both targets are destroyed, the mission progresses.

4. Bumrush Phase

The game selects an enemy airfield near the front lines based on a pre-defined order:

Airfield A
Airfield B
Airfield C
Airfield D
Airfield E

AI and players must attack and capture the airfield.
If the attack is successful:
- The map is redrawn, and the airfield is captured.
- The losing side must reclaim the lost airfield.

5. Mission Progression

Winning team:
- Receives new land & ship targets.
- Assigned a new airfield to attack.
Losing team:
- Must destroy their new land & ship targets before attempting to recapture their lost airfield.
- Once their assigned targets are destroyed, they may begin a counterattack on the lost airfield.

Testing Checklist

✅ Verify recon missions activate at mission start
✅ Confirm players can complete recon in any order
✅ Ensure bombing missions unlock correctly
✅ Check that both bombing targets must be destroyed to proceed
✅ Test bumrush airfield selection and AI attack
✅ Confirm map progression and new objectives are assigned

For Issues & Debugging

Use in-game chat/log messages to track progress.
Ensure AI and objectives function as expected.
Check mission logs for recon, bombing, and bumrush events.
